First of all, this is a fantasy picture, and I wasn't going to add the surface lights at first- but whilst watching "Blue Planet" I realized that, often, deep sea creatures come to the surface to breed or feed, so it's not impossible for this meeting to have taken place somewhat near the surface. At least, no more impossible than an angler fish that's bigger than a person and coming into contact with an anthropomorphic octopus/wolf creature
Art trade with Her character, Kailani bumping into a distant cousin (or something like that), the angler fish. The angler fish's bioluminescent 'lure' is actually an extension of their spine, which they use to capture prey. Prey of which can still be devoured even if twice the size of the fish.
Wonder if she's hungry or just curious of this strange octowolf hybrid?
I love deep sea creatures, I thought drawing her character would be a good first try at one of my favorites, my first fave being the giant isopod, which I plan on drawing as well at some point Anyways, hope you like ~gadzoox

I love the way you don't even bother to read the comment pointing out the water reflection and how you don't consider the fact that other comments were hidden~
I just read an awsome book titled Monstrous with a short story about a giant angler fish and another story written by Steve Alten (Author of Meg!) that did one on a giant Viper Fish, an Anglers bigger meaner brother. If you like anglers youll LOVE this book!
Great work on the lighting and underwater effects.
